my future

...is set! At least for the next six months or so.

In an unexpected twist, the Copenhagen office turned out to be recruiting for my role - and they've hired me! Start on the 25th, and will be living at home and commuting. Will be a bit taxing maybe, but people commute for longer to be able to live outside London in the greenery (my train will take 1h20mins roughly, but with cycling to the train and stuff I'll be getting up quite a bit earlier than now! I've done that before for years though, not really that big a deal when you get used to it). Then we'll see how things work out.

Two weeks to go! in London, and as my kin arrives mid week and is staying for the weekend, this really feels like my last London weekend somehow. Am going for dinner at R and K's place tonight, and then an early bday celebration tomorrow with lazy Sunday dim sum at Ping Pong with my cohabitants. Awesome!

Have spent the day so far trying to lighten my load - literally, by dismantling the DVD's and CD's that I've bought, keeping the discs and the leaflets but throwing a way a few kilos of plastic... I prefer to keep them in the binder case thingies anyway. Also just sorting though my stuff, trying to throw stuff away (or receycle of course, as far as possible). Won't be much time for that next weekend, and then I have my plane booked for the 8th. Life changing stuff! I really have no idea how it will feel to be living at home and working, have nothing to compare with... Despite a few random twinges of 'oh my god what am I doing', I'm mostly very excited!

things are going *down*

As in, lots is happening! I resigned on Monday - long story, but I've finally decided to go back to Sweden. All this dilly dallying about (like my dad would put it) was just giving my insomnia and making me very anxious. Things have however developed unexpectedly and well, I wont say just now but by next week I should know more about how my future will shape up...

Had a lovely weekend with A and E over a week ago now - I think maybe it's what finally pushed me, remembering what it's like to hang out with people who actually *know* you (or at least, have for more than a year or a few months...). I'm not fooling myself too much though - I know that even in Sweden unless I end up somewhere very close to one of my friends I won't see them on anything more than a maybe fortnightly (?) basis. But I think I subconsciously gave up on giving London a shot and staying for another year a long time ago - thus, no point in putting it off and moaning all the time. Sweden might work or it might not, but I won't know until I try!!
