urk

...too much dim sum at lunch today. And Chinese pastries afterwards... I do love bean curd, it's damn good! It's slightly mind boggling that it works in sweet things, but it does. Back at the office it's two people's bday's (= kitchen is drowning in cake offerings) *and* our lovely PA C donated a basket of chocolate cornflake thingies, + offerings from two researchers recent trip to Istanbul (turkish delight and chocolate pistacchio thingies). OK, I feel more queasy now just describing all that. urk.

Go to the pub or go home and watch Stargate? Today's momentous decision...

hooked by the über-man

Have had yet another drop-out from my 'no-I'm-not-going-to-love-it-cos-everyone-does' list of TV-shows. Faced with another rainy weekend (and the last w/end of the month before payday, so very very broke) I accepted a colleague's kind offer to borrow the 1st season boxset of '24'. Resistance was futile - I have succumbed to Jack über-man Bauer. I watched the whole thing in less than two days, and didn't venture further from my DVD-player than the grocery store.

(geeky sidenote: I got mildly excited when my real-time matched that of the show at one point Saturday lunchtime)

Have also secured entertainment for oh, the next month or so, as I happily discovered my not-so-obviously into Sci-fi team-mate possesses, through a random coincidence, four seasons of Stargate SG1.

June in London is no fun so far, just very wet. Can't wait for my holidays in three weeks, especially now that I found out my sis will be there at the same time, so will in fact see her before xmas. Also, my best friend since I was about 5 is dropping by London this weekend, and I haven't seen her in... gosh, over a year! Am throughly delighted.

Now it just has to stop raining in time for scheduled work picninc Wednesday...

work brought me back

Haven't been blogging in a while, but today we had a speaker on social networking and blogs at work and surprise surprise, here I am... Anyway, I miss the ranting (though I'm sure no one ever reads them, the fact that they *could* be read somehow makes it better than just ranting, you know, in your head...). I'm proud to say this clearly puts my blog into the 95% that our speaker said could be classified as 'dravel' (which, as we all know, is the good stuff).

It's the end of a darn nice week - we had 4 jeans days and a bunch of training (while the consultants got to go to Greece). And plenty of free sustenance, solid as well as liquid.
I'm exhausted.
