Yey! I did it again

That is, managed to line up my rather expensive monthly travel card with my holidays on the day exactly. So, 31 days to go...

Still, quite a lot going on. There's been so many long weekends and holidays in May I feel rather jaunty, despite the seemingly never-ending torrential wind and rains (after all, it was sun and 27 degrees when ze German was here for Whitsun - great timing. I've currently got a space heater at my desk, need I say more...).

This Friday is the Spring lunch at work, which this year due to the financial climate is a bit of a budget do at Bakken, the world's oldest amusement park (or so the website says). Activities include mini-football, archery and a bbq. If you know me at all you can probably pretty accurately predict my level of excitement to be looooow, but I'm going to try not to think about it (the bbq might actually be the worst - the only time meat smells good and usually you get some burned corn which is difficult to eat gracefully, sticks in your teeth and in its non-meaty form presents an obvious ground for taunts you have to answer in good nature). Oh well. I would plot an escape but it's my time to bring in breakfast goodies so no can-do (and the last time obviously since me and bread have said sayonara).

Then next Friday is midsummer. Like New Year's, either one of the top two worst or best days of the year. ENDLESS inquiries, what are you doing...? I am not going to be alone but it feels silly to take the day off to not do anything special. We'll see what happens.

Anyhow, E is back in the south so I'm hoping for many weekend outings with her and J this summer, should be fun :D
