A really crappy commuter week

Monday morning: train had killed a deer and needed to be sanitized; change in Malmö. Stuck in metro, 50 mins late.

Tuesday morning: City bus broke down, missed my regular train. Metro broke down, had to take a regional train to town and then walk. 50 mins late (although I did arrive at the same time as my colleagues who had gotten the earlier trains as those were delayed as well, so in some abstract sense it felt like I had saved some time/frustration somewhere although this is probably not true).
Wednesday: In the morning the metro broke down, so together with two colleagues I jumped on a regional train that would stop on our local station in central Copenhagen. At the central station however they must have redirected the train because suddenly we where going in the wrong direction and because it was still a long-distance train (or as long-distance as a train can get in the Lillyputt-land that is Denmark) the first stop was 15mins outside of Copenhagen. Almost an hour late that morning. In the afternoon the trains stopped running on the bridge due to signal failure. There were 4 replacement buses, and I could relate lots of numbers as to how inadequate that was but instead I'm just going to tell you that they had to call in police to deal with some riots.
Don't mess with man's commute! Me and my boss got a lift in our colleague's car and left a bit late, so I was home late but it was very stress free. We did find out today that the train that the rest of the Swedes took (when we were convinced they were mad for even trying) was the first one running and completely on time. Going by car was a bit of a novelty so I didn't mind though.

Today: I was only 20mins late today due to metro break down, but I witnessed and partook in the biggest outburst of rail rage of the whole week. The metro had no information on the signs, we all just sat there, waiting for it to leave (it was supposed to be working you just had to change somewhere). When we'd been waiting for about 15 mins, the train on the other side of the platform suddenly leaves (with a handful of people in it, versus our full one). People got a bit upset. Then the signs started glowing over another train that arrived on the other platform, so then people started to dash over to the other train - cue our train that we have been waiting in starts to leave, and people (including me) start dashing back towards it. I vaguely remember on instinct trying to pry the security doors open with my bare hands along with some other people (didn't work). My colleage who didn't run quite so fast for the other train managed to get back inside in time, he said people were laughing rather hard. Funny that, on our side people (including me) were swearing loudly and one guy started yelling at the Metro guard. Oh well, another train arrived 3 minutes lates and only got stuck for another 10 mins just before my stop.

I wonder what the rest of the week will bring!
