hot hot hot
Back to work!! and enjoying it quite a bit (despite this lunch-time blog break). It's been a wonderful and long two weeks, only the thought of how long it is till the next holiday is enough to lower my spirits... so I won't think about that!
I actually got sick last Thursday, which sucked because the weather was finally amazing and I was going to really enjoy my last three days in the sunshine. Instead I was lying inside, with a fever, feeling nausious, and generally wishing I just *wasn't* so I wouldn't have to feel that way. All the symptoms match algae poisoning and I did start feeling sick just two hours after my first (and last?) sea bath this year. It could have been some kind of weird flue, but I don't think so. I'm quite sensitive to these things so it wouldn't surprise me if I got sick though there was no warning posted about that particular coastline.
In any case, I got so bored and annoyed that I'm just so glad I'm well again I think the happiness of that has carried over to my general condition, which includes work... Also, as my one colleague and team manager has another week of vacation, I'm kind of in charge and responsible. This is great fun as long as no real emergencies arise!!
Now I'm just waiting for all my strength to return, I'm quite anxious about starting running again... I did bring my gear with me on my one week trip to Kalmar/Stockholm, but I only got one rain-drenched run in before I completely broke my body during a game of intense rounders (involving some amounts of alcohol). Still, I guess it must count as a running session, even though it was intervals... I have never felt muscle pain like that before, pretty much everywhere but mostly my thighs, which I could barely lift. Every step was pain and I couldn't stop myself from making stupid faces when I had to do something worse like taking two steps up to a shop front or something, or sitting down. Sight-seeing in Stockholm was... interesting. Anyway, I'm not one to give up and say lets sit in and watch TV because moving is pain, so it didn't really stop me. I had a wonderful time seeing F and M!
The heat-wave is still on, I'm in the only room at work on this floor with a working AC and very glad for it. Apparently it's supposed to end just in time for Saturday!! Anyway, back to work!!!
